Greetings on behalf of the Malik Melodies Sisterhood, Inc.  On December 14, 1978, at Long Island University/C.W. Post Campus, twenty-four conscious and innovative women came together to establish the Malik Melodies Sisterhood, Inc.  Since 1978, MMSI’s primary focus has been to develop leaders and instill motivation, determination, and a sense of commitment within women who address issues that confront them in the educational and professional environment as well as in the communities where they reside.  Today MMSI is a non-profit 501c4 leadership development organization dedicated to fostering cultural enrichment and advocating civic and social responsibility.

 

In celebration of our 40th anniversary and the “United Nations International Day of the Girl Child”, we are excited to host our 2nd Annual WE LEAD: Empowering Our Girls Conference at the Nelson Mandel School for Social Justice in Brooklyn, New York on Saturday, October 12, 2019.

 

Our conference aims to highlight and address the needs and challenges girls face, while also promoting girls' empowerment and the fulfillment of their human rights. This unforgettable celebration will focus on inspiring attendees to work to create a better world for girls, women and everyone.  This event will be a fun-filled day with music and performances as well as enlightening and inspiring, with messages from women on the challenges they faced in different industries and how they pushed past them. 

 

We humbly request your support for our WE LEAD Souvenir Journal that will be distributed at our 2nd Annual WE LEAD:  Empowering Our Girls Conference.

In honor of this momentous occasion, the souvenir journal will highlight our community partners, local businesses, special greetings from local and state dignitaries, family and friends.  By placing an advertisement in our journal, you will join us in our commitment to making a difference in our communities as WE LEAD to Empower Our Girls.

This special conference serves as a chance to give back to the community and to expose young ladies to opportunities which can positively enhance their lives; as well as support and build the capacity of the empowerment organizations attending the event.  We will also recognize the efforts of individuals and organizations who go above and beyond to make a difference.

The submission deadline is September 15, 2019.  Please submit your journal ad, contract, and payment as indicated in the Souvenir Journal Payment Options below.
