​The Mansaray Foundation (TMF), a USA 501(c)3 nonprofit organization working in rural Sierra Leone, is dedicated to creating safer births, reducing maternal mortality, and improving the quality of life of child-bearing-aged rural women in Sierra Leone.  With a focus on improving access to care, service delivery systems, and the quality of maternal healthcare, TMF has embarked on several impactful projects.

 

Sierra Leone currently has the highest maternal mortality rates in the world where 1,360 women out of 100,000 live births die from the complications of childbirth. This is 6x the global rate. Women in Sierra Leone are 300-400 times more likely to die from childbirth.  Our priorities are focused on improving access to care, improving service delivery systems and improving quality of care.

To transform maternal and infant health outcomes in rural Sierra Leone by establishing equitable, high-quality, and sustainable care systems in partnership with local communities and global health experts
 

TMF Vision:

A Sierra Leone where all women, regardless of geographic location, economic status, or literacy, have access to quality maternal care, resulting in a maternal mortality rate among the lowest in Africa.
