WE NEED YOUR SUPPORT To Empower Our Girls!

The Angela Pauling Memorial Scholarship is dedicated to honor MMSI's Co-Founder who succumbed to cancer in 2010.  The scholarship is earmarked for Angela’s high school alma mater in the Bronx, NY and we excited to continue Angela’s legacy with the issuance of our 7th annual scholarship in 2019.  Click Here to learn more about our Angela Pauling Scholars.

In 2018, MMSI launched our WE LEAD:  Empowering Our Girls Conference to have a more meaningful and far reaching impact within our communities.  Our conference aims to highlight and address the needs and challenges girls face, while also promoting girls' empowerment and the fulfillment of their human rights.

We are excited to host our 2019 WE LEAD: Empowering Our Girls Conference in Brooklyn, NY at the Nelson Mandela School For Social Justice and are also requesting your support for this amazing event. Please help us give back to the community and to expose young ladies to opportunities which can positively enhance their lives.   SAVE THE DATE!

In celebration of our 40th anniversary and the United Nations International Day of the Girl Child, our conference aims to highlight and address the needs and challenges girls face, while also promoting girls' empowerment and the fulfillment of their human rights.

Our 2019 WE LEAD: Empowering Our Girls Conference will be an unforgettable celebration focused on inspiring attendees (students, corporate/community leaders, mentors, volunteers, and local politicians) to work to create a better world for girls, women and everyone. This event will be a fun-filled day with music, raffles, food, and performances; in addition to enlightening and motivating, with messages from women on the challenges they faced in different industries and how they pushed past them.

The day will culminate with the “Gems Among Us” Awards Presentation, honoring outstanding individuals and organizations for their commitment to uplifting and empowering our girls.

Nurturing Our Leaders

Mind, Body & Soul

MMSI recognizes that we, as leaders, often neglect ourselves for the good of others. This FREE workshop will allow us time to refresh our focus, reflect on our inner being, and rejuvenate ourselves to continue providing the much needed service to empower our young girls.

Our bodies are temples and we must recognize the importance of embracing and adapting self-nurturing habits for our health and well-being.  Please Join Us!

MMSI's Dr. Nathalie C. Lilavois will present:

Cultural Connections: What are we teaching our children?

Like adults, grade school children bring their identities and cultures to school as part of who they are. However, given the not-so-subtle messages of the dominant culture, how do we prevent our children from feeling like second- class citizens? In this interactive presentation, we will examine the impact of identity and context through a culturally responsible lens. We will share ideas and develop strategies for building stronger connections in our schools and communities by embracing our wonderfully diverse talents, assets, and skills.
